Purpose of the Post: My client is looking for a highly motivated individual to manage and coordinate their national infrastructure programme across various Campuses of the Southern Region (Kirstenbosch, Karoo, Harold Porter, Hantam, Richtersveld areas). Key Performance Areas: Ensure effective regional infrastructure programme implementation Improve workplace health, safety and security Foster strategic partnerships with relevant stakeholders Manage regional infrastructure budgets
Knowledge and Skills: Excellent analytical, conceptual abilities and report-writing skills Knowledge of the PFMA and National Treasury’s Infrastructure Development Management System (IDMS) Knowledge of infrastructure procurement and associated processes Excellent knowledge and understanding of building materials/tools available in the built environment sector An understanding of the relevant regulatory processes applicable to the Built Environment sector A high level of project, programme, procurement, financial, and human resources management expertise A valid driver’s licence with at least one-year practical driving experience and a willingness to travel
Experience and Qualifications: National Diploma or Degree in Engineering (Civil or Structural), or equivalent qualification with NQF 7. A postgraduate degree in Engineering (Civil or Structural) or equivalent degree at NQF 8 will be an added advantage. Registered with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) Registered as a Professional Construction Project Manager with the South African Council for the Project and Construction Management Professions (SACPCMP) Experience in working with the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) Experience in construction project management of similar scaled projects Experience in labour-intensive construction and managing expanded public works programmes Experience in working with spreadsheets (MS Excel) Must have 8 years’ experience in the relevant field, of which 4 years should be in first line management position(s) managing and coordinating major infrastructural programme and projects.
