Purpose of the Job:  The incumbent serves as a senior manager responsible for identification, development, implementation and management of the company’s security strategy, programmes and operations, e.g. the governance of the security function, enforcement of security standard operating procedures, management of security service provider(s), and liaison with State Security agencies in all spheres of government. The incumbent shall ensure that the security strategy, system, policies and processes ensure adherence of the organization to the Water Services Act (1997), National Water Act (1998), Private Security Industry Regulatory Act (2001), National Key Point Act (1980), Protection of Critical Infrastructure Bill (2017), Protection of Personal Information Act (2013), Electronic Communications and Transactions Act (2002) and other related legislation and prescripts, in an effort to ensure the safety, security and protection of the company’s information, clients, employees, and assets.
 
 
Key Responsibilities: Security strategy, policies and procedures. * Management and execution of the security function within the company’s * Liaison and security stakeholder management * Ensure Innovation and Technological awareness within Security.* Cyber Security management * General management of the unit/department.
 
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor Degree/Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech) in Security Management or Policing (NQF 7) plus extensive training in security management * Compulsory registration with the PSIRA at Grade A  * Must be in possession of security clearance at the level of TOP SECRET or the security clearance must be obtained within the 6-month probation period  * Code 8 Driver’s Licence * A recognised tertiary qualification in information technology security will be an advantage.
 
Minimum Experience: Minimum of 8 years’ experience of working in security environment of which three (3) should be in the management/ leadership role in one of the following industries in the Republic of South Africa: policing OR private security OR defence OR state security agency  OR any government component/department/ state owned entity.
